Chevre-Stuffed Dates and Figs with Pecans


Delicious Appetizer for Holiday Gatherings

These easy to make appetizers are delicious with or without bacon. Warm them in the oven for a few minutes and serve.


  • 12 medjool dates (or any large date), pitted
  • 12 large mission figs, split
  • 1 small log fresh chèvre (goat cheese)
  • 24 pecan halves
  • 12 strips bacon, cut in half crosswise


  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Using a pecan half, push a small chunk of chèvre or goat cheese into dates and figs, leaving pecan half in place (do not overfill or you'll end up with a messy oven).
  3. Wrap each date and fig in a half slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick; place in a foil-lined baking pan and bake for 20 to 30 minutes, or until bacon is fully crisp.
  4. Remove from oven, transfer to a plate and serve after cooling for a few minutes.
