Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is wine made from the eponymous grape variety, Montepulciano. Not to be confused to with the wine Vino di nobile Montepulciano which is a red wine made from Sangiovese. Specifically, a wine from the glorious Tuscan hilltop town of the same name. This wine is from the region to the south west of Pescara to the east of Tuscany.
Rich plum and cherry fruit is in harmony with the earthy truffle, sweet cedar and nutmeg base. This is a plump combination that takes on an additional lushness with powdery tannins kept in shape by fresh acid.
This is good with or without food. Buon appetito!!
