Victor Vineyards lies east of Lodi, California in the small town of Victor. The town may be small and unknown as a wine producing area, but Victor Vineyards is out to change that.
Owner Robert Lawson began his wine journey in 1993 by growing and selling grapes from his 90-acre vineyard in the Mokelumne River AVA, to wineries across the United States.
In 1999 Lawson purchased the historic Victor Fruit Growers Company building, a fruit packing and storage company established in 1920, where he now makes his own wine for distribution. Victor Vineyards specializes in producing Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and red blend wines.
Victor Vineyards Roadside Red is a zinfandel-based red blend wine (14.7% alc/purchased $14.00). It has a beautiful red color in the glass with juicy berry and spice aromas on the nose. On the palate, there are bursts of dark cherry and berries with hints of toasted oak. The finish is smooth and long.
