The 2018 Petiole Pinot Noir is garnet red in the glass with aromas of ripe red berries, mild baking spices and herbs. On the palate, the wine feels smooth with cherry and black pepper, and then there's a kick of acidity mid-palate with soft tannins, and a dry, smooth and long finish.
In the glass, the wine pours ruby red. On the nose, there are aromas of dark cherry, purple plums, earth, oak and spice. On the palate, there's a powerful fruit-forward berry-burst in the mouth with the same earth, oak and spiciness. It lingers long with a smooth finish, soft tannins and balanced acidity.
Food and Wine Pairing from Oregon's Willamette Valley. "This flavorful fish is fun to catch and is a nutritional powerhouse. We hope you enjoy this easy and tasty recipe as much as we do,"--Coelho family of Coelho Winery in Oregon's Willamette Valley.
Oregon Pinot Noir in my humble opinion is some of the finest in the country, and I looked forward to reviewing this Willamette Valley pinot from Samuel Robert Winery. This is a small lot premium production winery owned by Samuel Coelho who along with his family, moved from California to Oregon in 2002 to be part of the emerging Willamette Valley wine industry where he helped to grow Coelho Winery into an internationally known brand.
