We thoroughly enjoyed this wine! Pouring it into the glass the legs lingered along the sides and the delectable aromas included dark berry, earth, purple plum and cherry. On the palate, there were intense notes of cherries and vanilla spice. The finish was semi-dry and smooth with mild tannins and acidity.

Wine Review - OVR Old Vine Rosé 2018

The wine is pale pink in the glass with extremely mild aromas of pear, lemon and grass. On the palate, the wine is tart with plenty of acidity and minerality. The finish is smooth, long, dry and creamy. This California Rosé was aged in neutral oak for 3 months with weekly lees stirring. The grapes included in this wine were hand-picked from some of the oldest vines in California.

Wine Review - Uvaggio Vermentino 2016

Pouring the wine, this Vermentino has a light straw-yellow color in the glass with aromas of lemon, chamomile and grass. Tasting the wine, there are notes of citrus, green apple and honey. The acidity is well balanced and not overpowering with a buttery, mineral finish at the end. The folks at Uvaggio believe wine should be fun to drink.

Sheehan Winery is located in the Vecinos del Bosque area of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Winemaker/owner Sean Sheehan originally set out to become a doctor, but his underlying passion for wine eventually took over. In 2015 he started Sheehan Winery after a decade of working as a winemaker for other New Mexican wineries. Sheehan is a small batch producer of wines of character, layers and depth. His 2017 Chambourcin “Elyce Vineyard” is no exception.
