Confidencial Reserva Tinto Red is a full-bodied red blend wine from Portugal. It's also a great buy currently at $6.99 at Costco and just a few dollars more at other wine retailers.
It's a well-structured wine that pours deep red in the glass. The grapes creating this blend are Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tinta Roriz. Touriga Nacional is a low yielding grape used in port wine. But over the last few years, this versatile grape has been used to create complex Portuguese wine blends.
The 2017 (13.5% alc.) is an easy to drink wine with a dark ruby red color in the glass. There are aromas of earth, spice and black fruit. The wine has a smooth taste of ripe fruits and toast, with light tannins and just the right amount of acidity.
The grape varietals used to produce this pleasant-drinking wine include Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet, Trincadeira and Cabernet Sauvignon.
